THE LIGHT IN INTERIOR DESIGN

Light has the leading and especially important role in interior space.  Light likes the catalyst to create vitality and the aesthetic value for living space. 

Light source classification

• Natural source light: is the source light from nature. It imparts the beauty to the house, creates different darknesses and light for the space. The natural source light makes the space more real, reduce moisture and the cost of the house. We can’t control the natural source light, but we can change, regulate it by choosing the time, the space or supporting devices to adjust the feature and intensity to the positions need lighting.

• Artificial source light: is the source light from existing electrical system in house. It plays an important role in daily life. The artificial source life has certain efficiency for interior decoration, make the room more romantic. We can easily adjust the intensity and colors of an artificial source light by using different lamps at any location in the room.

Light classification

• Direct light: the light goes straight from light source to the environment or objects need lighting. Direct light has strong intensity, sharp shadow.
• Indirect light (diffused light): The light is diffused through another medium likes cloud, curtain,.. Another type of indirect light is the reflective light. Indirect light is smooth, not sharp shadow.

Light in interior design

• Panoramic illumination: light the entire room, provide enough light to work. It’s often replaced or supplemented the natural source light.

• Focusing light: helps to create an emphasis on architectural space. Focusing light directly affects work efficiency, health and psychological user. Focusing light should carefully calculate the intensity of light, colors and light characteristics to choose the appropriate light. Focusing light must need direct light.

• Decorative illumination: decorative illumination can reveal, highlight the cube, interior details and increase the aesthetic value of architectural and interior space. Decorative illumination often uses yellow light, uses both direct and indirect light.  

• Lighting by intensity: the intensity of the light. In the living space requires a lot of different emotions and activities, so it’s important to need the system adjust the light to create different forms.
