Do we need ecotecture?
Ecotecture – The solution to protect environment. In recent years, environmental pollution is become the urgent and very difficult issue in the world. Environmental pollution is increasingly serious and it affects greatly the live of human as well as the pieces of animals and plants on Earth. The fresh air, clean soil, clean water have been disappeared every day, every hour. Therefore, we need the solution to rescue our planet from the destruction of environmental pollution: is ECOTECTURE.
According to the research of Commission for Environmental Cooperation. In developed countries, buildings account for 40% of total energy used, 38% of CO2 released and 60% of domestic waste. It’s predicted that if industrial construction is continue to remain currently, by 2050 the buildings will account for 70% of CO2 released. The direful picture of environment has been shown very clearly, so, we need ecotecture to change the world.
Definition about ecotecture
Ecotecture is called “Green Architecture” or “Sustainable Building”. During the process of construction – use – dismantlement, the ecological architecture must be met the following principles:
- Having the symbotic with nature.
- Using renewable materials.
- Creating the healthy and comfortable environment.
- Integrating with human environment of history and region.
- Applying new energy saving techniques.
The benefit of ecotecture
The responsibility of ecotecture is not only studying architecture but also studying surrounding environment. Therefore, ecotecture helps to minimize waste, limit environmental pollution, protect and rehabilitate natural resources.
- About environment: The stable, fresh and cool living space is not only rely on concrete, iron, steel or the air conditioner but from green plants, from nature. Ecotecture brings nature to human life, create the airy environment and protect health of family’s members.
- About economy: Ecotecture uses the renewable materials from nature such as bamboo, wood,.. and energy saving materials… so it brings the high economic efficiency.
- About aestheticism: Ecotecture helps people and nature live harmoniously and support together. Nature contributes to the beauty of architectures, the architectures glorify the majestic beauty of nature.
Ken Yeang architect talked about ecotecture: “Ecotecture is developed not to preserve what is left, it must ensure the long-term survival of the biosphere as a whole”.
